*If employment is prior to the completion of the qualification at the required level, an applicant must have at least one year of highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level within the last five years. The remaining five years of pre-qualifying period may be within the last ten years.

A positive assessment of both qualification level and employment duration is required for a positive Skills Assessment Outcome.

  • Organising local sporting, cultural and recreational events and activities such as community functions, hobby classes, community arts projects and sporting competition.

Employment Information

  • Recreation Officer / Recreation Coordinator may be employed within local governments, community organisations, schools, commercial organisations such as health and fitness agencies, outdoor recreation, and sport associations. They may work as Researchers, Consultants, Planners, Youth Leaders and Outdoor Activity Leaders, or in managing a community centre, leisure centre or sports complex.
