Your skills assessment application will be processed more smoothly if it is submitted with all the required documents and they are presented correctly. 

VETASSESS has signed a memorandum of understanding with Tourism Training Australia (TTA) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to create a streamlined skilled migration pathway to connect Australian employers with skilled hospitality workers from India. 

Many Australian industries are struggling with staff shortages but one of the most dire needs is in aged care. Qualified workers from India can help fill the skills gap.

VETASSESS has reviewed and updated its skills assessment criteria for two occupations relating to accommodation and hospitality management, following consultation with the Australian Hotels Association (AHA). 

VETASSESS will resume accepting new Pathway 1 applications for the occupation of Plumber (General), ANZSCO Code 334111, on February 12, 2024.

Update: From June 12, 2024, we began accepting new applications for Chef and Fitter (General), and from April 23, 2024, we resumed accepting new applications for the occupations of Cook, Diesel Motor Mechanic and Motor Mechanic (General).

The Australian Industry Group (Ai Group) has endorsed the VETASSESS skills assessment criteria for the occupations of Manufacturer and Production Manager (Manufacturing). 

The VETASSESS Priority Processing service will change so that applicants with evidence of urgent need will receive priority when places are allocated.

More occupations have been added to the list of roles available for a fast-tracked skills assessment for migrants who are living in Australia on a family, partner, humanitarian or refugee visa.

From August 9 2023, VETASSESS will no longer require applicants to provide verified copies of qualifications from HEC Pakistan or, for Nigerian applicants, the registrar's office of the awarding body. This applies to applicants in professional and general occupations.
